Picked up the new Journey CD today, Revelations. It’s quite good, if I do say so myself. The first disc is made up of new material, and is traditional Journey. The second disc is composed of re-recorded Journey hits sung by the new lead singer, Arnel Pineda. Have a listen to the following songs, and see if you can spot the original and the remake.

Bet you couldn’t tell, could you? Well, the first one is the remake, and the second one is the original one, sung by the great Steve Perry.

In other news, I am going to give blood tomorrow, so I have to get a good night’s sleep.

Lots of shit happening all at once that is very, VERY annoying. First off, the manager of the store I work for has chosen this week to take her two week vacation. That leaves me as temp-assistant manager, while the normal ass’t manager takes up the manager position. Second, the big-wigs from Circle K are visiting again, on Wednesday, which means that the store has to be spick and span for their arrival. As if it’s not anyway. We have been running our collective asses all over the place trying to get things just right for the damn idiots that run the company, all while still trying to do the normal shit that we do. Its nerve wracking, to say the least.

Anyway, some other things that are happening right now is… well, nothing, really. Just had to get that off of my chest, as it’s been driving me nuts.

I Dressed Up For A Blog Post…

Well, things are starting to look up for me. I’ve possibly gotten a job at Boeing, of all fucking places. My mom’s business partner’s brother in law is one of the top dogs at a company that Boeing owns, and they are looking for a few people to go in and change static web pages. Updating images, changing text, simple things like that. I am so up for it. Had to email him my résumé today, and he said he’d email me back tomorrow and try to get it looking great for the higher-ups. Hopefully, if I get accepted, I can get an internship, which would be cool, working at the local Air Force base, Tinker. If I get it, and he said pay would be roughly $20/hr, I would go from making 10k a year to roughly 40k a year. Oh yea, daddy could use that money. Mostly to buy a new car.

Speaking of new cars, I’ve gotten my eye on a few different models. First is the Saturn Astra. Nice car, made in Germany by a company called Opel. Second is the Mitsubishi Lancer. Basically, the smaller brother to the Mitsubishi Evolution. Really nice car. Third is the Subaru Impreza. Slightly more expensive than the other two, but its warranty is better than the others, and it has full time all wheel drive, which makes it safer (and more fun).

Well, it’s getting late, and I have a fun 9hr day of work ahead of me tomorrow. G’Night, all.

Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.

Thirsty for more business during the worst slump in its history, Starbucks will try to lure more customers by offering two hours of free AT&T Wi-Fi a day.

The Wi-Fi freebie will be available starting Tuesday to customers who purchase a minimum $5 reloadable Starbucks Card, register online for the Starbucks Rewards Card program, and use the card at least once a month. The two hours must be consecutive. New members also receive a voucher for a free drink.       Source

Sounds like a lot of trouble to go through for a mere two hours of Internet, don’t you think? It seems to me that Starbucks is going to have to do more to lure people into their stores, and rather than giving out free Wi-Fi, they should give out ten dollars of free gas, or something.

In other news, I have found my old IBM ‘Clickety Clack’ keyboard. Just need to get a PS/2 to USB connector to hook it up, and I’m in business. I absolutely loved this damn keyboard, and I don’t know why. Its big, old, and the number pad doesn’t work quite right anymore. But I still love it.

The Future of Cars…

Introducing the Peel P-50.

Currently holding the world’s record for the smallest production car, the P-50 had a 49cc engine made by DKW, which gave it a top speed of near 40 mph. It truly is the future of transportation, and, oddly enough, comes from the 60s.

Possibly my favourite segment from Top Gear, ever.
