Magic Bus

Good news! I have finally decided to update my blog for the first time in… well, ages, really. Why, you may ask, haven’t I updated in so long? Well, the short answer is that i’ve been lazy. Yes, lazy, not busy. Well, I have been busy, but not so busy that I couldn’t update my blog.

So, lots of things going on right now, and not much has changed. Still going to school in the morning, still working in the evening. Doesn’t always leave much time to myself, and what little time I do have is spent playing my 360. Not the best way to spend a day off, i’ll admit, but damned if it isn’t fun. I bought Colin McRae’s DiRT last saturday, and i’ve already beaten the damned game on “Pro-Amateur.” Time to bump up the difficulty and attempt to blow through it on Professional, but the few races i’ve played on that level were damned annoying for one reason; the computer cars are idiots and do not know how to fucking follow a proper racing line. There I am, turning into the corner just like you’re susposed to, then next thing I know, i’ve turned to face the enemy. Confused, I go to view the replay. Well, turns out that the driver behind me decides not to actually turn into the corner, instead choosing to plow straight on, ramming my back bumper. Annoying.

In other news, it’s finally Fall! YAY! I love this time of year. Trees start turning a colour other than green, the temperature isn’t hot enough to dehydrate a cow, and Top Gear generally starts a new series ’round abouts this time of year. Yes, Top Gear. Probably one of the greatest car shows on the airwaves at the moment. So great, in fact, that they have launched Top Gear Australia, Top Gear America, and, you’re gonna love this, Top Gear Russia!

Well, that’s all that I have time for right now, but hopefully, i’ll be back sometime soon.

Lots of shit happening all at once that is very, VERY annoying. First off, the manager of the store I work for has chosen this week to take her two week vacation. That leaves me as temp-assistant manager, while the normal ass’t manager takes up the manager position. Second, the big-wigs from Circle K are visiting again, on Wednesday, which means that the store has to be spick and span for their arrival. As if it’s not anyway. We have been running our collective asses all over the place trying to get things just right for the damn idiots that run the company, all while still trying to do the normal shit that we do. Its nerve wracking, to say the least.

Anyway, some other things that are happening right now is… well, nothing, really. Just had to get that off of my chest, as it’s been driving me nuts.

Eight months. Thats how long I have worked at Circle K. Seven and a half of those months were with a per-hour pay of $6.50. Minimum wage. Just two weeks ago I was put up for a raise. To $6.90. If you ask why I have stuck around for so long, I couldn’t tell you. Maybe because it was so close to home. Or because it’squite an easy job. I don’t know why. If someone has an answer, please, feel free to comment. I still haven’t gotten a call back from Circuit City, and I am doubting that I ever will. Of course, with my luck, I would get the job, only to have my pay be the same, if not worse, than it currently is. And now for something completely different; My To Do List.

Yep, thats right. I’m making a To Do List, and yes, I know that nearly every blog writer has one. Multiples, if possible, so here goes.

The List

  1. Finish (or for that matter, get accepted again) College.
  2. Work on my stories some more.
  3. Buy a new (and I mean new, baby) car
  4. Work less, make more money (directly related to #1).
  5. Practice singing again. I used to be quite good at singing, but when I had to drop choir in my senior year, I fell out of practice.
  6. Enter 24 Hours of LeMons: YeeHaw Edition. Honestly, I doubt that this one will happen, but one can hope, can’t he?
  7. There is no wish #7
  8. Have a new computer built for my birthday, so I can have at least one present that is halfway useful. See, my family has a weird obsession with socks, and I always get at least 4 packs during any gift giving occasion. A man only has so many drawers in his night stand…
  9. Quit smoking. This one is pretty self-explanatory if you have an IQ level above that of a bar of soap.
  10. Learn a foreign language or three. Preferably, German and Spanish. French would work, if only to confuse the fuck out of the illegal Mexicans that refuse to speak English.

Well, signing off for now. Until next time, don’t forget to eat your teeth, and brush your vegetables. Or is it the other way around?
